Syneron Celebrates 10 Years of Aesthetics with elōs® Technology

On January 25, 2011, Syneron recognized the tenth anniversary of the introduction of elōs technology to the medical aesthetics industry.

The story of elōs began in the 1960s, when optical energy in aesthetic medicine was being used with lasers. Then, in 1995, Shimon Eckhouse, Ph.D., now Syneron’s chairman of the board, introduced Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), a broadband optical energy technology for aesthetic treatments. Over time, Dr. Eckhouse recognized the challenges arising from using both lasers and IPL, and in 2000 he introduced elōs (electo-optical synergy), which combined a deeper penetration of optical and radio frequency energies.
