New CO2RE™ Complete CO2 Resurfacing System Signals Change for Physicians and Patients

Dr. Jill Waibel, a board-certified dermatologist at the Miami Dermatology and Laser Institute, is no stranger to using tried-and-true CO2 resurfacing technology. But the recent addition of the new CO2RE™ system to the family of Syneron-Candela technologies already within her successful practice is cause for excitement.

The first system to emerge since the Syneron-Candela merger, the CO2RE system provides a total of six different treatment modes including four fractional ablative treatment modes and pattern shapes, a traditional resurfacing mode, and an excision mode that includes defined shape and freehand modes for minor dermal excisions.

Waibel praised the system’s ability to treat both superficial and deep skin layers simultaneously, with precision-control over the intensity, pattern and depth of ablation.

“CO2RE is really the first exciting second-generation CO2 device. It is a well-conceived, elegant design, and its ability to easily select between treatment modes, treatment patterns, spot sizes and energy levels enables us to offer patients truly customized treatments with a single device.” Optimal for Fitzpatrick skin types I-III, CO2RE is the obvious choice for skin resurfacing when both practitioners and patients understand the treatment tradeoffs of superior, single-treatment results for elevated discomfort and downtime. Flexible and targeted, CO2RE technology makes this decision easier by helping practitioners deliver predictable and often dramatic results quickly.

“As part of a business model, CO2RE can mean being able to effectively treat more patients in less time, and the treatment flexibility within modes may also reduce the number of other resurfacing devices required within the same practice,” Waibel said.

Waibel also noted that CO2RE treatments are well positioned to be bundled with the other less ablative systems she has within her practice, namely the Syneron eMatrix™ system featuring the exclusive Sublative Rejuvenation™ treatment.

“In terms of customized, refined results, I believe the bundling of treatment technologies is the wave of the future. And in this regard, combining CO2RE treatments with the eMatrix system’s minimally invasive Sublative Rejuvenation treatments seems to be a natural fit together,” Waibel said. “I am very familiar with Candela and their entire line of products, and I continue to be impressed now that this relationship has been extended to include Syneron.”
